This policy explains what information US Financer collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and written in plain English because a privacy policy only works if people actually read it.
Who we are
US Financer is an independent personal-finance website published under the US Financer name. We write guides and build simple calculators to help readers understand everyday money topics. We are not a bank, lender, broker, or financial adviser, and we do not take applications for any financial product.
What we do not collect
The simplest part of this policy is the list of things we do not do.
- We do not offer user accounts, so there is nothing to register for and no password to store.
- We do not have a comments section.
- We do not run a newsletter or email list.
- We do not accept loan applications, credit card applications, or any other financial application.
- We do not ask for your name, Social Security number, income, bank details, or any other financial information.
If you ever see a page claiming to be US Financer that asks for this kind of information, it is not us.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our web server and our security provider record some technical details when a page is requested. This includes:
- your IP address
- the type of browser and device you are using
- the pages you request and the time you requested them
- the website you came from, if your browser passes that along
These records exist so the site can function, so we can spot errors, and so we can block abusive traffic. We do not link them to a named person, and we have no practical way to do so.
Cloudflare
US Financer sits behind Cloudflare, which handles content delivery and security screening. When you load a page, your request passes through Cloudflare’s network before it reaches us. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to filter out bots, denial-of-service attacks, and other malicious traffic. It may also set a small number of cookies that are strictly needed for that security screening to work. Cloudflare publishes its own privacy policy describing how it handles this data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only. These are the minimum needed to deliver pages reliably and keep the security layer working. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site identifiers, and we do not build profiles of readers.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because we rely so little on them, the site should still work normally if you do.
Analytics
We may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to understand which pages people read and roughly where visitors come from. If we do, it will be a service that works without personal identifiers, does not track you across other websites, and does not sell data to third parties. The information we would see is aggregate: page counts, referring sites, approximate country, and device type. We would not see who you are.
If we add analytics in future, we will update this page to say so.
Calculators
Our calculators run entirely in your browser. When you type a loan amount, interest rate, savings goal, or any other figure into one of them, the math happens on your own device. The numbers you enter are not sent to our server, stored by us, or shared with anyone. If you close the tab, the entries are gone.
Links to other websites
Our articles often link to government agencies, regulators, banks, lenders, and other companies so you can check facts or find official resources. Once you follow one of those links, you are on a site we do not control, and that site’s privacy policy applies. We encourage you to read it, particularly before entering any personal or financial information.
How long we keep data
Server and security logs are kept for a limited period for troubleshooting and security purposes and are then deleted or overwritten in the normal course of operation. We do not keep them indefinitely, and we do not archive them for marketing. Any aggregate analytics data, if we use analytics, contains no personal identifiers and is kept only to show long-term reading trends.
Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share it for advertising. The only third party that handles visitor data on our behalf is Cloudflare, as described above, and a privacy-focused analytics provider if we choose to add one. We would disclose technical records if required to by a valid legal request.
Your rights
Because we collect so little, there is usually nothing personal for us to find, correct, or delete. Even so, you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to object to how it is processed, to the extent any applicable law gives you those rights. We will respond to reasonable requests within a sensible timeframe. You can reach us using the contact details published on this site.
California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act and its amendments give you specific rights, including the right to know what personal information a business collects, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. US Financer does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the past. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising any privacy right.
Children
US Financer is written for adults making their own financial decisions. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13, and the site has no features that would invite a child to submit information. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the small amount of technical data we handle, including serving the site over an encrypted connection and using Cloudflare’s protective layer. No system is perfectly secure, but the practical risk here is low because we hold no accounts, passwords, or financial records.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the site changes, for example if we add analytics or a new feature that touches visitor data. When we do, we will revise this page and note the date of the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy, so it is worth checking back occasionally.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about how US Financer handles visitor data, can be sent through the contact details published on this site. We read every message and will reply as promptly as we can.
